Your Australian company registration is easy with Michael Law Group
Are you considering setting up a business in Australia?
In Australia, you have the choice of (4) main business structures: (1) company (2) sole trader (3) partnership and (4) trust.
The company structure is popular in Australia because you can enjoy limited liability.
In a nutshell, limited liability means you are only liable up to the value of your company assets and your personal assets are separate in most instances.
Some of the requirements that you should know upfront before you consider an Australian company are below.
A resident director
In Australia, you can have more than one company director but one of them must be an Australian resident. A director must be 18 years or older.
You'll need a street address as your registered office. You can use a virtual office address and we can also send you some options if you'd like as well.
You'll need to lodge your tax return each year and if you register for goods and services tax (mandatory if your turnover is $75,000 or more per year) then you may need to lodge a business activity statement either quarterly, bi-annually or annually. We've got contacts for tax accountants that work remotely also if you'd like these.
Registering your company with a lawyer is easy because you can benefit from:
- advice and guidance every step of the way to register your Australian company;
- guidance about Australian government identification for non-residents; and importantly
- the mandatory legal paperwork that you need to register a company including director consents, shareholder and officeholder registers and share certificates.
Your Australian company registration features
You get the mandatory legal documents for registration like officeholder consents, officeholder and shareholder registries.
Your company is registered remotely with the help of an Australian qualified business lawyer on the phone and over email.
So how do we work with you to register your Australian company? Here's how in just 3 steps:
Once you are ready for company registration, we'll send you an e-starter pack. The pack will include your client agreement and trust deposit details so we can begin work for you.
We'll send you a form to complete with preferences and details for your Australian company before it's registered.
Your Australian Company Number (ACN) is usually delivered to you on the same day as registration. Your Australian Business Number (ABN), Goods and Services Tax registration (GST) and Pay As You Go (PAYG) registration are usually delivered within 3 to 7 working days.
